Should you play Basketball every day?
No! In fact, you should only play Basketball a couple of times per week. The rest of the time, you should engage in other activities that develop and strengthen your body. You want your body to be a well-rounded machine, not a one-trick pony.
What is a “well-rounded” body? Simply put, it’s one that can perform many different types of exercises. Don’tDon’t get me wrong; I’m not saying you have to run a marathon or climb a mountain every time you exercise. What I am saying is you should try to do a little bit of everything.
What are the advantages of playing Basketball every day?
– Improves cardiovascular fitness:
Playing Basketball increases your heart rate more than running or most other exercise activities. What this means is your cardiovascular system is being exercised at a very high-intensity level for a prolonged period of time. This is why it is considered the best all-round exercise you can do. It tones up your heart muscle, increases your circulation, and helps prevent arteriosclerosis.
– Strengthens muscles and bones:
Basketball requires a lot of repetitive motions which strengthen your arms, legs, back, and core. This helps you to avoid injuries that may slow you down later in life. It also helps you maintain or regain your previous body weight and keeps your metabolism high. The net result is your body gets stronger, faster and more energized throughout the day.
– Enhances concentration and focus:
The fast pace and constant movement involved in playing Basketball improve your concentration and focus. This makes it a great exercise to do before you take on a big project at work or before you attempt to memorize something difficult at school.
– Brings a sense of well being:
Playing basketball releases endorphins into your brain, which gives you a natural high. This has the same effect on your body as morphine does on a person who is in pain. Endorphins are naturally produced in your brain as a “feel good” chemical. They give you a happy, mellow feeling and make you less stressed and more creative. Endorphins also help to alleviate depression and other types of mental stress. Therefore, by playing Basketball, you get all the benefits of an active workout without the exhaustion and soreness that often follows a long run or hard weight lifting session.
– Reduces stress:
Endorphins released into your brain during play also have a sedative effect which helps to calm you down and reduces your stress level. It has a similar effect on your body as a good night’s sleep. This is one of the main reasons people like to play Basketball after a long day at work. It provides them with an easy way to unwind and release their stress.
– Helps you lose weight:
The constant movement involved in playing Basketball stimulates your metabolic rate. The faster you move, the more calories you use. This is why many people who play Basketball regularly find it easier to lose weight than those who do not. Of course, there are many other factors involved but, the above mentioned is one of the main reasons.
– Improves your balance and coordination:
The constant movement required while playing Basketball improves your balance and coordination. This makes it a great exercise to do if you are in need of some instant rehab for a recent injury or just to maintain or improve your current level of fitness.
– Helps you sleep better:
Another major benefit of exercise is it helps you get a good night’s sleep. This is because exercise reduces the “chatter” in your brain that keeps you awake at night. The constant movement required while playing Basketball helps your brain produce more endorphins which have a sedative effect and make it easier for you to fall asleep.
– Helps prevent disease:
Regular exercise helps flush out toxins from your body and keeps them from building up to toxic levels. This prevents many types of cancer, heart disease, arthritis, osteoporosis, and other health problems.
– Gives you self esteem:
Another benefit of exercise is it gives you a sense of self-esteem. You will feel better about yourself when you are able to accomplish a difficult task like playing a great game of Basketball. Doing something you enjoy, like exercising, also gives you a sense of pride and accomplishment. This, in turn, gives you a boost of confidence that can help you achieve any goal you set for yourself.
– Makes you happier:
Last but not least, exercise is one of the best things you can do for your mental and emotional health. It provides a sense of satisfaction and contentment that cannot be measured in dollars and cents. Exercise releases “feel good” hormones in your brain that have a very positive effect on your mood. This makes it easier for you to deal with the stresses of everyday life and helps you become a more positive and upbeat person.
All in all, there are so many good reasons to start an exercise program it should be easy for you to convince yourself to get started.
